Partner

Bryan D. Perkins focuses on business litigation with an emphasis on employment related disputes. Mr. Perkins was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 29, 1962 and was educated at the University of Texas at Austin (B.B.A. with highest honors, 1985) and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D. with honors, 1988). Mr. Perkins passed the Certified Public Accountants examination in 1985 at the conclusion of his undergraduate studies and became a licensed CPA in 1989.

Mr. Perkins’ experience before he moved his practice to Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels included representing plaintiffs in employment-related matters, business disputes and personal injury litigation. He now uses that experience to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of commercial matters and business disputes. His plaintiffs background also helps in defending against all forms of employment claims, including sexual harassment, race, sex, disability, age and national origin based discrimination and retaliation claims, wrongful termination, FMLA based claims, non-compete and trade secrets matters, and claims arising under the FLSA. Mr. Perkins also handles ERISA based claims, which includes his experience serving as lead counsel in an ERISA based class action involving more than 1200 plaintiffs. His commercial litigation practice includes real estate related matters where he is able to take advantage of his experience from early in his legal career handling real estate transactions and landlord/tenant negotiations. Mr. Perkins has on occasion written articles and given presentations to employers and employment counsel on a variety of employment-related topics. He also helped write and edit portions of the Texas Employment Law Manual first published by Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels in 1999.

Mr. Perkins has prevailed at trial and in arbitration against negligence, intentional tort, statutory discrimination and breach of contract claims, and he has obtained significant awards in favor of his clients in commercial litigation matters.
